This project is an example of deep rethinking of industrial heritage through the lens of modern ecological and technological needs. Its essence lies not merely in preserving the existing engineering structure, but in transforming it into a symbol of sustainable energy and openness to new meanings.

Architectural Idea

The image of the tower is based on the contrast between time and technology. The vertical composition is formed by a brick body clad in CORTEN steel with its characteristic patinated color. The facade surface is perforated with binary code, adding a media aesthetic and allusion to the digital era. Interior lighting projects through the perforation, activated by the energy generated by the tower itself.
The crown of the composition is a structure of vertical wind turbines — a delicate yet powerful installation that forms a volumetric spiral around the upper part of the tower. Thus, the industrial chimney becomes both a vertical turbine and an art object.

Functional Structure

The primary purpose of the reconstructed tower is to generate electricity for the surrounding space. Key functions include:

• Vertical-axis wind turbines: quiet, safe, and efficient at low wind speeds. Total capacity — over 50 kW.
• RUUKKI cassette facade system with perforated CORTEN steel panels: cladding area is about 1130 m². Some cassettes can optionally be replaced with solar panels.
• Interactive nighttime illumination: LED projectors display animated infographics on the adjacent square — energy charts, seasons, time reflections — creating a sense of continuous motion.

Concept and Significance

The name “Tower of Possibilities” reflects the main idea of the project — to transform a historical structure not into a museum artifact, but into a real foundation for new energy, contemporary aesthetics, and an urban symbol.
The tower becomes not only a technological installation but also a public artistic and educational landmark — a platform that unites ecology, culture, and the future.
The project demonstrates how architecture can simultaneously preserve, reinterpret, and transform space.
