Project
Facade decoration project for the BioTestLab production building

This project is an example of industrial architecture modernization through the renovation of facade solutions using modern energy-efficient systems. It was implemented for the production building of the pharmaceutical company BioTestLab, located at: 1/3 Lystrovoho St., Vasylkiv.
Architectural idea
The concept involves the visual transformation of the building using a suspended ventilated facade system. The composition is dominated by rhythmic horizontal bands of RUUKKI Design S34 panels with 34% perforation, creating a dynamic play of shadows. The combination of solid sandwich panels and transparent perforated elements gives the building a distinctive graphic character.

Functional structure
The project covers both the main production building and the checkpoint (security post). Cladding is implemented in two levels:
- Main building — insulation of the facade with 80 mm thick Ruukki SP2B sandwich panels, installation of horizontal RUUKKI Z100 t=1.5 profiles for mounting the perforated profile.
- Checkpoint (CP) — cladding with the same technology, with separate solutions for the entrance, parapets, and horizontal decorative inserts.
Technical Features
- A sealed air gap is created using XPS insulation, sealant, and Flexifoam mounting foam.
- Facades provide thermal insulation in compliance with DBN B.2.6-31:2021 standards.
- Cladding area: over 1500 m² with sandwich panels; over 1670 m² with perforated profiles.
- Visual elements (logos, canopies, lighting accents) are integrated into the facade structure.
Implementation Highlights
- The project considers the specific climatic conditions of Vasylkiv.
- Mounting nodes are developed to adapt the system to the existing load-bearing structure without dismantling.
- The solution’s versatility allows the system to be scaled to other production facilities without changing the technology.
